Plane a Day 21/07/2011

You really don't want to get a puncture in the driving wheel at speed...

Igorbot turnaround

The name needs work, I fear...

Plane a Day 20/07/2011

Everyone loves giant killer death robots :D

Plane a Day 19/07/2011

Some sort of gull wing VTOL maritime patrol aircraft

Plane a Day 18/07/2011

Just what every victorian megalomaniac super villain's underwater lair needs

Plane a Day 17/07/2011

This started out as a sort of hover GeeWhizz, but now I've no idea what it is...

Plane a Day 16/07/2011

Racing aircraft based on the GeeBee supersportsters of the 1920s and 30s

Plane a Day 15/07/2011

What do you get if you cross a Sunseeker with a WWII flying clog?

Something that looks like it belongs to a Bond villain, apparently

Plane a Day 14/07/2011

Another Scrapheap Special :D

Dragonflyer development 1

First attempt at developing design 5.

Not sure about the landing gear, but I quite like the flexible tail idea.

Plane a Day 13/07/2011

At the risk of sounding incredibly pretentious, I feel this is some sort of "hot rod" type racer.  Possibly for sub aquatic racing

Plane a Day 12/07/2011

Steampunk personal helicopter.

Based on a REAL personal helicopter (Hiller Rotocycle) from the 1960's

Plane a day - the first month

[Warning - Large Image]

As per Phil's suggestion, the first 28 days worth of "plane a day"s.

Numbered in case anyone has any they'd particularly like to see more of.

Also, which style do people prefer?

Plane a Day 11/07/2011

Plane a Day 10/07/2011

And in total contrast to yesterday, the "traditional" sci-fi spaceship, in this case a warship

Plane a Day 09/07/2011

A fairly "hard" sci-fi spaceship - nuclear electic drive and centrifugal gravity simulation

And a strong emphasis on the number 3

Saturday, 9 July 2011

Plane a Day 08/07/2011

Today, some sort of stealth UCAV

And I just realised I've been doing this for a month ^^;

Plane a Day 07/07/2011

Based on the exposed compressor disk, I'd say this would definitely not pass pedestrian safety tests.

Although, since it flies, you have to wonder what the pedestrian is doing in front of it...

Plane a Day 06/07/2011

Trying to do something with the cockpit from two days ago.

I quite like the idea of the opening roof on the top deck, although I wonder if it would be better if they all split down the middle, like the rear ones.

Plane a Day 05/07/2011

What do you get if you cross the Wright Flyer with a Gravity Racer?

A new extreme sport, of course

Don't forget the kneepads, they're an integral part of the landing gear...

Plane a Day 04/07/2011

Today, two designs produced by a bit of marker doodling, then basic working up

Not to keen on them, although the nose of the second one might have promise as part of some sort of luxury yacht...

Plane a Day 03/07/2011

Thought process for this one went something like:

  • Balloon type fantasy airships boring
  • Therefore replace balloon with nugget of Aetherium (or equivilent)
  • However people who decorate shield bosses are not going to be happy with hanging their airships from a boulder
  • Therefore carve nugget into more appropriate/terrifying/religiously significant shape
Also, about time I did a high fantasy vehicle

Plane a Day 02/07/2011

The weapons under the cockpit were originally going to be energy cannons of some sort, but now I think they look more like torpedoes or missiles...

Plane a Day 01/07/2011

I think I know why Miyazaki likes early seaplanes - they have an aesthetic all of their own

Plane a Day 30/06/2011

Another scrapyard special, partly inspired by the Lunar Landing Research Vehicle (AKA "the flying bedstead")

I'd say ear defenders would be essential, seeing as it's powered by two unsilenced V8s...
